Air Conditioners for Electrical Cabinets

IP Enclosures steel or 316 stainless steel air conditioners are designed for the cooling needs of electrical cabinets, optimised for door or side-panel mounting and have been designed for high efficiency and low maintenance. Air Conditioning is required when the internal temperature is required to be lower than ambient temperature and for high heat loads. IP Enclosures air conditioners are especially designed for dissipation of heat from inside electrical enclosures and data racks. Air conditioning is based on the heat exchange between two separate air circuits. Air circulation inside the enclosure is separated from external ambient air, protecting the contents of the enclosure from dust and moisture. In the first circuit, heated air is circulated from inside the enclosure to the air conditioning unit and returns chilled into the enclosure. In the second circuit, ambient air circulates from outside the enclosure to the air conditioning unit and returns to outside. The air conditioner digital thermostat is factory set at 35°C and is adjustable from 20°C to 45°C. The evaporator fan operates continuously to circulate internal air, ensuring a uniform distribution of temperature inside the cabinet, preventing hot spots. When the temperature inside of the enclosure is higher than the set-point value, the refrigeration cycle starts. When the internal temperature decreases below set point value, the refrigeration cycle stops. To ensure efficient flow and to prevent flow being directed at active components, a flow diverter accessory should be used. IP Enclosures Air Conditioners are provided with a built-in digital thermostat providing the following functionality:

• Set temperature of compressor start
• Set temperature of compressor shutdown
• Set delay on/off of compressor in terms of temperature
• Set time of compressor to avoid intermittent on/off
• Set maximum value for overcoming maximum temperature in the cabinet, after which thermostat emits an alarm
• Set delay time of alarm switch
