Battery Storage Cabinet

IP Enclosures’ Battery Storage Cabinet is a floor-mounted, ventilated cabinet engineered for secure outdoor housing of inverters and batteries in solar installations. Rated to IP55 for dust and water ingress protection and IK10 for mechanical impact resistance, it is suited for use in exposed environments including infrastructure, energy, and remote area installations.

Fabricated from galvanised steel and finished in UV-stable RAL7035 powder coat, the cabinet features two separate compartments including a battery compartment and separate inverter and component compartment. The cabinet is compliant with IEC/EN 60529, IEC/EN 62208, and RoHS directives. IP Enclosures backs this model with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, ensuring long-term performance in field conditions.

Body:

The robust monoblock body is manufactured from 2.0mm galvanised steel sheet. Precision automated manufacturing equipment ensures accuracy and consistent high quality. Flat face sealing surfaces increase seal life. The battery compartment includes 19″ front and rear rails with battery slides. The inverter and component compartment includes a device mounting plate. Cutouts are provided to house fans and filters. Side wall cutous are covered with removable vent hoods. (Fans and filters and ordered separately).

Doors:

The surface mounted doors are manufactured from 2.0mm galvanised steel sheet. It incorporates concealed removable hinges with captive pins. Doors are also designed for a 110° opening.

Seal:

A high quality machine-applied full perimeter UL listed Polyurethane seal foamed in place (FIP) provides excellent sealing over a long life. Temperature resistance -40°C to 80°C (160°C short term loading).

Locks:

3-point locking system with keyed swing handle.

Device Mounting Plate:

The device mounting plate is 2.0 mm galvanised steel sheet. It is pressed to provide strength. It is pre-fitted into the cabinet as standard.

Gland Plate:

Gland plates are incorporated into the bottom face of the cabinet for cable management. They are provided with gaskets and fasteners.

Surface Treatment:

UL approved AkzoNobel epoxy polyester powder coated with a textured finish. 80–120 micron average thickness. The standard colour is RAL7035.
